This page provides instructions for installing the CryptoChart™ Client.
An Authorization Key is required to complete the installation.
- Internal requests to obtain the Authorization Key can be made through Novarad’s Information Systems Team.
- Customers will receive the authorization key for their site from the Project Manager assigned to their project, prior to the completion of the project.
-
- 35 GB of free space on the receiving drive
- 4 GB RAM
- A current Microsoft-supported operating system
- Either a static IP address, or a dynamic IP address with an address reservation
- Administrator access on the receiving machine so the Windows firewall can be configured
- A printer the machine can print to, or the ability to print to PDF
- The installer is a signed .exe file. It may need to be marked as safe in the machine's anti-virus software.
Network and machine
- Network: The client must be on the same network as the PACS or DICOM modality that sends to it. (DICOM images can also be uploaded directly to the client.)
- Machine: The client cannot be installed on a machine that already has Novarad software installed — for example, a machine running the Novarad Managed Viewer. The two will conflict and the install will fail. It is fine to install the client on a machine that uses the ClickOnce utility to access Novarad PACS, since ClickOnce does not install PACS locally.
- Confirm the client machine meets the requirements in Full System Requirements section
- To download the Client click Download the Installer. You will receive a .zip file called ClientSetup.zip. This is a secure file required for installation.
- Extract ClientSetup.zip to a folder, then double-click Setup.exe in the extracted folder to launch the setup wizard.
- Paste the provided authorization key into the Authorization Key field in the CryptoChart Client Installation window.
- Important: When pasting the Authorization Key, you must include
- “---Begin Activation Key---”,
- the number, and
- “---End Activation Key---”
- Follow the CryptoChart Cient Installation Wizard Steps:
- Launch from the CryptoChart Monitoring Software desktop shortcut by right-clicking it and selecting Run as administrator.
- Note: The client must be launched as administrator any time the configuration needs to be edited, not just on first launch.
- On first launch, the Add Facility Name dialog appears on top of the launched client, enter the Facility Name and click Save.
- About the Facility Name: The Facility Name appears to the recipient when an image is shared via SMS, identifying where the image was sent from. It is editable later from the System Monitor. At sites with multiple CryptoChart clients, each client can use a different Facility Name so the recipient knows which department or location sent the image — for example, "Main Street Hospital, Imaging Center" on one client and "Main Street Hospital, Cardiology" on another.
- The CryptoChart System Monitor is displayed with the System Monitor Client Configuration collapsed. Expand the System Monitor Client Configuration section by clicking the + icon, then click Edit Configuration to make changes and Save when done. The ports and AE Titles shown here are required for configuring the route rule on the PACS or the DICOM desitination on the modality.
- CryptoChart uses three configurable inbound ports, each tied to a different sharing mode. The defaults are listed below; both the port numbers and the AE Titles can be changed in the System Monitor Client Configuration if the site requires it.
|
Sharing mode |
Default port |
Default AE Title |
|
Full patient study access |
104 |
ccfull |
|
Limited patient study access |
105 |
cclimited |
|
Single study access |
106 |
ccsingle |
Requirements for the ports:
-
- All three inbound ports (defaults 104, 105, 106, or whatever they have been changed to) must be open — in the Windows firewall and in any additional network firewalls between the modality/PACS and the client machine — for TCP inbound connections.
- Port 443 must be open for HTTPS outbound connections.
- The configured ports and AE Titles must match what is entered when configuring the destination on the PACS or modality.
