SALT LAKE CITY—Utah-based healthcare technology company Novarad will be exhibiting its ChameleonDR ™ Digital Radiography solution at RSNA 2016 in Chicago, Ill.
The ChameleonDR solution is made up of a software component and a DR plate. It is equipped with Novarad’s proprietary A3™ image post processing technology, an Advanced, Automated, and Adaptive approach that enables sharper image quality.
Other features of the solution include sharp images up to 300 percent reduced exposure while providing HD-quality image resolution (15MP), 100 µm pixel pitch, auto-detected interchangeable cassettes, a pre-populated database of x-ray procedures, on-board memory for image storage, and an optional rugged laptop for ultimate portability. The lightweight cassette fits a conventional table or wall Bucky.
“The ChameleonDR wireless solution was created to be an easy upgrade over traditional CR, DR or even film without having to disrupt x-ray components already in place,” said Steve Fowler, Director of Product Management with Novarad. “That’s what’s important right now—making this transition as painless as possible for all healthcare providers.”
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016 includes payment reductions intended to incentivize the transition from traditional x-ray to digital radiography. Beginning in January, it will cause a reduction in Medicare fee-for-service payment for certain x-ray services provided using film, and in 2018 will cause a reduction in the Medicare fee-for-service payment for x-ray services using computed radiography (CR) equipment.
Those interested in learning more about the ChameleonDR solution may visit the company at RSNA, booth 7329, visit www.novarad.net or follow the company on Twitter, @NovaradCorp. RSNA 2016 will take place Nov. 27 through Dec. 2.
