Medical imaging company recognized for ingenuity and economic contribution, among top 10 trademark holders in Utah State

SALT LAKE CITY—April 23, 2019—Novarad, a leader in the development of medical imaging software, was recognized at the 2019 Utah Genius Awards ceremony, which took place April 19 in Salt Lake City.
The Genius Awards program honors the top 20 Utah inventors, the top 20 Utah companies by patents, and the top 10 companies by trademark registrations earned throughout the previous year. Novarad placed seventh in the trademark registrations category with 12 registrations. Among the company’s most recently trademarked products are its mobile image management application, SnapView®, and its augmented reality system, OpenSight®. OpenSight received FDA clearance for pre-operative use in 2018.

According to the program’s website, the Genius Awards program was created in 2009 to honor those who were driving Utah’s creative economy. Rather than focusing only on the companies, however, the award also honors the people behind the innovations.
The OpenSight Augmented Reality System received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2018.
