Going to Louisville?

We’re excited to join all of you who are going to Louisville, Kentucky, for this year’s NRHA Conference. Louisville is an exciting venue with a variety of things to see, do and experience. The Kentucky Derby, held in Louisville three days before the conference, is dubbed, “the most exciting two minutes in sports”. This world renowned horserace has a storied 138 year history and is one of the nation’s most famous horse race. If you aren’t able to make it to the derby you can still visit Churchill Downs, located just 15 minutes south of the convention center by car or taxi. Locals and visitors insist on trying a slice of Derby Pie a chocolate and walnut pie that is just a as big a staple at the Derby as the horses and jockeys.

In line with the sporting spirit of Louisville, the city is home to the Hillerich & Bradsby Company, makers of the famed Louisville Slugger baseball bats. Used by greats from Cobb and Ruth to today’s stars, Louisville Sluggers have been powering hits and homeruns for the past century. Just a short 15 minute walk from the NRHA convention puts you in front of the world’s largest baseball bat-a 120 foot tall replica of Babe Ruth’s bat, which marks the entrance to the Louisville Slugger Museum. In the museum you can take a guided tour, watch the bat making demonstrations and even purchase your own customized baseball bat. Previous tour goers recommend allotting one to two hours to enjoy the tour.

For those looking for a more relaxing break from your convention experience, wander to 4th Street Live!. Located steps from the center and hotel, this section of downtown Louisville offers good food, live music and a vibrant downtown atmosphere that will provide a relaxing environment in which to experience the Midwest’s entertainment and hospitality without going more than a block from the convention center. Another relaxing outlet and local secret is the Highlands neighborhood. No more than 10 minutes southeast of the city by car, “Restaurant Row” is home to boutique shopping and an assortment of foreign restaurants.  This neighborhood offers the local charm of Louisville and a unique experience that will provide you with a relaxing escape to one of the crown jewels of the Midwest.

We hope you enjoy your time at the NRHA Conference and look forward to the opportunity of meeting with you. Ken Redding, Eastern Regional VP of Sales, will be on hand at booth #104 to answer questions and demonstrate Novarad’s award winning PACS and RIS software. You can pre-schedule a demo by calling 801-642-1001 or emailing sales@novarad.net .
